Definitions
SRL - The Science Registry Ltd - the owners of FindAPhD .
Advertisers -
University departments, schools or faculties, or research
institutes registered with FindAPhD.
Public Area - The area of FindAPhD that students (and any other visitors) see.
There are 3 listing categories in the FindAPhD database:
Project entries - a single research project listed under the name of the academic supervisor.
Rotational / Four Year PhD Programme - description of a rotational/4 Year PhD programme, where the research project is chosen after or during the first 12 months of study.
AHSS PhD Programme - a description of the PhD opportunities within an academic school or department in the Arts, Humanities or Social Sciences.
Custom Pages - In circumstances where an advertisers needs cannot be met using the above options we may offer to provide a Custom Page advert. These listings are not included in the database, and can only be reached via a Featured Advert.
Featured Adverts - Banner or Button advertising linking to listings within FindAPhD.
Terms & Conditions
Advertisers are responsible for keeping the information they present on FindAPhD up to date. SRL reserve the right to hide project entries from the public area of the site if the information provided appears out of date or inaccurate.
Project entries
Newly registered project entries are not available
in the public area until the following
data has been entered:
- Application Deadline
- Project Status (funding availability)
- Project Title
- Subject Areas
Project entries and
advertisers are registered with FindAPhD
for 12 months and will automatically be hidden from the
public area of FindAPhD
after this time, and may subsequently be deleted.
Advertiser's general department descriptions are
not available on the public area of FindAPhD
if no project entries are viewable in the public
area.
Project entries appear
on the public area of FindAPhD
when they have a valid application deadline (i.e. a future
date or 'applications accepted all year round').
Advertisers
can change any of their project entry details (except department name
and the first supervisor's name) at any time during the
registration period.
Advertisers
can use their username and password to advertise postdoctoral
positions free of charge on www.FindAPostDoc.com.
Project entries must
- Contain details of a supervisor’s single defined research project/area.
Project entries must not
- Announce the general availability of one or more studentships within a department or research group.
- List multiple or broad research areas.
Where a limited number of studentships are available across a choice of research projects, an entry is required for each proposed or potential project.
Active hyperlinks to external sites are not permitted
in project entries except in the 'web site' field of the departmental information
section.
Links to lists of further research projects may not be
placed in individual project entries.
SRL reserve the right to remove without
notice any project entries on FindAPhD
which breach one or more of the above Terms and Conditions.
No refunds will be given in these circumstances.
Rotational / Four Year PhD Programme
Only rotational/4 Year PhD programmes, where the research project is chosen during or at the end of the first 12 months are included.
Ads must not be used to promote other PhD programmes within the Advertsier's institution.
Arts, Humanities & Social Sciences PhD Programmes
Only PhD programmes in the Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences can be included.
Ads must be used to promote PhD programmes only available within the registered department, school, faculty or institute. Other opportunities within the same university must be promoted in a separate listing.
Featured Adverts
Featured Adverts can only link to listings within the FindAPhD database or to a custom page.
Buttons and banners are usually designed by our in-house team. Whatever the source of the ad, it is the advertisers responsibility to ensure that the appropriate rights have been obtained for use of any images or logos that make up the button or banner. SRL retain copyright on any buttons, banners or other creatives that SRL produces on your behalf. Their use is licenced for FindAPhD only. Advertisers wishing to use any of our creatives on their own sites should contact info@findaphd.com.
Custom Pages
Custom pages are designed by our in-house team. Whatever the source of the ad, it is the advertiser's responsibility to ensure that the appropriate rights have been obtained for use of any images or logos used in the page.
Acceptable content for Custom pages is at the discretion of SRL.
