We have a vibrant and active community of research students in the School pursuing a vast range of topics that is supported through our highly regarded postgraduate research programmes and research training. We attract talented postgraduate research students from around the world who benefit from our expert supervision and the extended support of the Liverpool Doctoral College.

The School offers you the chance to explore your own ideas through our postgraduate research programmes. We invite applications from candidates who have, or expect to graduate with, good Masters level qualifications to undertake doctoral studies at the University. Although we particularly welcome applications in the following areas, this is not limited:

Funding Notes

Funding opportunities are advertised on the Management School webpage (usually around November and April time). Applications for this programme are welcome from suitably qualified candidates worldwide. Full funding details will be provided on the Management School webpage and are open to Home and International candidates. The University of Liverpool is a member of the ESRC North West Social Science Doctoral Training Partnership (NWSSDTP). The NWSSDTP runs an annual funding competition for PhD studentships.
