Swansea University, PhD StudentshipsFounded in 1920, Swansea is a vibrant, research-led university at the forefront of academic and scientific discovery. The University’s stunning campus on the edge of the Gower Peninsula offers an exciting and stimulating environment for postgraduate research and is home to a thriving postgraduate community.

In the 2008 Research Assessment Exercise, Swansea University enjoyed the largest increase in internationally excellent research in the whole of the UK. Following this success, the University is offering a number of fully-funded PhD studentships for September 2009.

All studentships cover UK/EU tuition fees plus a maintenance grant of at least £13,290 p.a.

Arts and Humanities

  • Ten PhD studentships, two linked to graduate teaching assistantships in history
  • Research proposals are invited from well-qualified candidates whose research topic could be supervised at Swansea
