The judges were amazed by Emma’s positivity in confronting everything that was thrown at her.

PhD Student of the Year


Toluwalase Awoyemi

University of Oxford

The judges described Toluwalase as one to watch as a future leader. They also praised the impact his charity is having on young students from low to middle income backgrounds in Nigeria.

Masters Teacher of the Year


Will Mason

The University of Sheffield

The judges were impressed with how Will adapted his teaching during the pandemic with heart and creativity to provide a tailored experience for his students whilst applying his research to his valuable community work.

PhD Supervisor of the Year


Malcolm White

St Andrews University

The judges were impressed not just by Professor White's accomplishments as a gold standard PhD supervisor, but also by his commitment to outreach activities in schools and prisons.

Best PG Marketing & Recruitment Campaign


University of Lincoln

Climate emergency environmental scholarship & tree planting campaign

The judges praised the University of Lincoln for putting the climate emergency agenda alongside it's postgraduate student recruitment efforts.

Best PG Wellbeing Initiative


University of Plymouth

Researcher Toolkit

The judges were impressed with how Plymouth's Wellbeing Toolkit is specifically aimed at the needs of postgraduate students and will have a wider impact across other institutions who choose to take it onboard.
