As a BBSRC-funded doctoral training partnership, MIBTP brings together five esteemed research-intensive universities: University of Warwick, the University of Birmingham, the University of Leicester, Aston University and Harper Adams University.

MIBTP is at the forefront of delivering groundbreaking, world-class research training across the Life Sciences. We invite applications from talented and passionate students in biology, chemistry, or physical sciences, offering unparalleled opportunities to delve into research projects that shape the future in critical areas:

MIBTP's focus on interdisciplinary bioscience, quantitative biology, and cutting-edge technology platforms sets the stage for a transformative learning experience. Our students gain proficiency in investigating biological questions across disciplinary boundaries, utilising state-of-the-art techniques, and mining large-scale datasets.

The MIBTP journey begins with an initial 12 weeks of interactive training in quantitative bioscience skills, followed by two 12-week research projects. As part of the four-year PhD programme, students also embark on a 12-week professional placement, as well as advanced training, ensuring a well-rounded and dynamic training experience. Our graduates emerge as mature, skilled, and high-achieving individuals, ready to excel in their careers.

Successful applicants will be creative and motivated to engage in interdisciplinary research.
