Areas of research for the scholarships

Applications are invited with clear theoretical contributions in one of the following research areas.

• marketing, international business and management
• finance – mergers and acquisitions
• organizational theory and HRM
• tourism management
• business information systems

How to apply

Applicants must email a postgraduate application form to Liz Brearley (e.brearley@shu.ac.uk), the SBS graduate centre administrator, by 12 noon on Friday 20 March 2015.

Please indicate clearly in the body of your email whether you would like to be considered for

• both scholarship schemes
• GTA Scholarship only
• VC Scholarship only

We recommend that you contact a prospective supervisor to discuss your research proposal before submitting your application form.

Selection process

Interviews will be held on the weeks commencing 20 and 27 April 2015.

Successful applicants are required to attend an interview where you will be asked to talk through your research proposal. Interview panel members will include the head of research programmes/PhD programme leader, a prospective director of studies and a representative from the SBS Research Board.
