Scholarships available!

The Dodd-Walls Centre is a national Centre of Research Excellence with researchers in departments of physics, chemistry, mathematics and computer science, at six of New Zealand’s universities.

We are offering numerous fully-funded PhD scholarships and Postdoctoral Fellowships beginning in early 2018 across our major research themes::

  • Sensing and Imaging
  • Photonic Sources and Components
  • Quantum Fluids and Gases
  • Quantum Manipulation and Information

The scholarship application deadline is 1 October 2017. Early applications will also be considered.

A PhD can be started at any time, and students generally complete in 3-4 years.

International PhD students pay the same costs as domestic students and are eligible for scholarships.

We will also be appointing a number of Postdoctoral researchers across all our themes to begin in 2018.

Details of the application process, Scholarship projects and Postdoctoral Fellowships can be found on the opportunities page of our website and are posted as they become available.
