Imperial College London PhD Studentships
2024 - 25 entry
The new Imperial College London MRC DTP for Interdisciplinary Science in Health (MultiSci) is delighted to offer up to eight studentships commencing in October 2024.
MultiSci is a cross-faculty programme, focusing on three key interdisciplinary strategic themes: The Battle Against Infections, Understanding Disease Mechanisms in Humans, and Realising the Power of Big Data to Improve Health. Successful applicants will carry out a PhD addressing one or more of these themes.
Prior to commencing their PhD projects, MultiSci students will undertake 12 months of training, which includes a series of lab rotations as well as MultiSci specific cohort training.
Funding
During the programme, you will be supported with a tax-free stipend at the UKRI ‘Inside London’ rate, currently £20,662 p/a. Stipend support of up to 6 months is also provided for writing-up your PhD thesis. The studentships also provide tuition fees, a conference fund, a research support and training grant, and access to additional funds to cover a wide range of research and training activities.
Entry requirements
We aim to recruit from a broad spectrum of institutions and welcome applications from any potential students who fulfil the eligibility criteria.
Applicants should hold, or expect to receive, a first class or a good upper second-class Honours undergraduate degree (or equivalent). Those who have already studied at postgraduate level should hold, or expect to receive, a pass or above at Master’s level. A Master’s degree is only a requirement where an applicant holds a lower second class undergraduate degree.
