Opportunities to develop teaching skills by participating in Bath Spa's CPLHE course, leading to HEA accreditation

Children's Social and Emotional Learning (Psychology and Education)

The proposed PhD project is in the area of children's social and emotional learning.
This is a growing area of educational research that has been shown to have benefits for many other areas of children's personal and academic development. The emphasis will be on building upon existing collaborative links between psychology and education. This is likely to involve (a) showing how recent psychological theories in the areas of social cognitive and emotional development have been used to inform innovative social and emotional learning programs; and (b) drawing on the statistical expertise of staff within the Psychology subject area to systematically evaluate one or more such programs.
