About the Programme

AHRC Doctoral Studentship (PhD)
History
THE OPEN UNIVERSITY & THE NATIONAL LIBRARY OF WALES

As part of an exciting partnership between The National Library of Wales and The Open University, we are able to offer a three-year, full-time AHRC-funded studentship for doctoral work in History (to commence October 2013). The student will join a community of 20 doctoral students in History at The Open University but will also work closely with staff, students and collections at The National Library of Wales.

While proposals will be accepted for any historical project seeking to utilise the National Library's collections, we would be particularly interested in receiving applications for research drawing on the Historical Newspapers and Journals Digitisation Project or The David Lloyd George Archive. Projects considering the Welsh experience of, and participation in, the First World War would also be welcome.

CLOSING DATE FOR APPLICATIONS: 31 May 2013

INTERVIEWS ANTICIPATED: w/c 24 June 2013

For full details and information on how to apply, please see http://www3.open.ac.uk/employment/
