About the Programme

 The Faculty of Social Sciences and Law are delighted to invite applications for a number of PhD Scholarship opportunities;

• 2 ESRC funded PhD's in Economics are available to students who have previously undertaken a Masters level programme incorporating research methods training at an ESRC recognised institution. These studentships are available to UK/EU and International students.
• 1 ESRC Funded PhD in Security, Conflict and Justice is available to students who have previously undertaken a Masters level programme incorporating research methods training at an ESRC recognised institution. This studentship is not available to International students (due to funding restrictions). EU students may apply but will be eligible for a fees only award.

• Up to 3 University of Bristol Scholarships and 1 Alumni Scholarship are available to students applying to any Social Sciences and Law discipline. These studentships are open to UK/EU and International students.

Research topics are flexible but must be agreed with your chosen School before registration.

Start date: 3rd January 2013

Funding

Economics - The ESRC funded studentships generously provide a stipend for three years of PhD research including full UK/EU tuition fees plus an Enhanced Doctoral Stipend exceeding the UK Research Council National Minimum (£16,590 p.a. for 2012/13, updated each year). Candidates will also have access to an annual Research and Training support grant of £750.

Security, Conflict and Justice - The ESRC funded studentships generously provide a stipend for three years of PhD research including full UK/EU tuition fees plus a Doctoral Stipend matching UK Research Council National Minimum (£13,590 p.a. for 2012/13, updated each year).

The University of Bristol and Alumni studentships generously provide a stipend for three years of PhD research including full tuition fees plus a Doctoral Stipend matching UK Research Council National Minimum (£13,590 p.a. for 2012/13, updated each year).
