About the Programme

Kent Business School is currently inviting applications for PhD scholarships for candidates starting their studies in September 2019. Candidates must have applied for a PhD at Kent Business School, and research proposals can be within the following areas:

• Accounting
• Finance
• Management
• Management Science
• Marketing
• Operational Research

 

Available Scholarships

Vice Chancellor's Research Scholarships

A three-year studentship, which includes Home/EU tuition fees, and a stipend of £14,777 per year (2018/2019 rate).
Note: Overseas students will have to fund the difference between Home/EU and Overseas fees

Kent Business School International Research Studentship

A three-year studentship, which includes overseas tuition fees, and a stipend of £14,777 per year (2018/2019 rate).

VC and KBS International scholarships take the form of a Graduate Teaching Assistantship (GTA), whereby PhD students receive financial support (a combined salary and maintenance grant) in return for undertaking some part-time teaching.

South East Network for Social Sciences (SeNSS) PhD Studentships

A three-year studentship, which includes a maintenance grant of £14,777 per year (2018/2019) rate, tuition fees at the Home/EU rate and access to further research funding.

Note: to be eligible for the full SeNSS studentship, applicants must meet residency criteria.

Scholarships are awarded to students who meet the following criteria and display excellent research potential:

The deadline for 2019 entry has now passed.

• Degree at a first or 2:1 level from a UK academic research organisation. Degree qualifications gained from outside the UK, or a combination of qualifications and/or experience that is equivalent to a relevant UK degree, may be accepted.
• Score of 7.0 in IELT test (waived if an applicant is a national of a majority English-speaking country, or has completed a qualification equivalent to a UK Bachelor's degree in a majority English-speaking country)
