Ethics of Medical Tourism

My current research is in global and bioethics and is particularly focused on issues which span these areas. My current project is on the ethics of medical tourism. Medical tourism includes, travelling from countries where physician assisted suicide is illegal to countries such as Switzerland where it is legal; travelling to countries with public health services to access free or cheap treatment; or the wealthy travelling for cheaper cosmetic surgery; or the wealthy travelling to relatively poor counties to purchase organs from live ‘donors’. I would like to encourage students to work on the ethics and governance of medical tourism.
