The Role of Photoreceptors in Photoperiodic Control in the Green Alga Chlamydomonas reinhardtii

Using physiological and molecular biology methods, this PhD project aims to investigate the role of different photoreceptors from the green alga Chlamydomonas in the molecular mechanism of photoperiodic control with regard to its life cycle. The underlying mechanism will be compared to that of the long-day plant Arabidopsis in collaboration with T. Mizoguchi (Japan).
