PhD Research Project
Applications are invited for a fully funded MSc/PhD studentship (4 years) to research a topic related to the work of the Facility & Environmental Management Group. The successful student will take the MSc in Facility & Environment Management at UCL in year 1 and, subject to satisfactory progress and formal acceptance, will register for a full time 3 year PhD programme thereafter. The PhD project is likely to involve the development of systems supporting the facilities and asset management work undertaken by Amey as part of the Ministry of Defence Private Finance Initiative Project in Whitehall, London. The student will be supervised jointly by Professor Michael Pitt (UCL Bartlett School of Graduate Studies), Peter Mclennan (UCL Bartlett School of Graduate Studies) and Jon Brazier (Amey, industrial supervisor). The post will be based at the Ministry of Defence in Whitehall. Applicants must be UK passport holders enabling them to apply for and obtain the necessary security clearances and it is a condition of being offered any position that the student obtains and holds these throughout the project.

• Have at least a 2:1 degree in a built environment, business or numerical discipline.

The studentship will cover tuition fees and a tax-free maintenance stipend (starting at £16,500/annum for the MSc year 1 and rising to £18,500 for subsequent years).
