About the Project

This studentship offers the successful applicant the opportunity to work on a highly innovative approach to supporting older men with dementia in rural Dorset by evaluating the use of computer game technology designed for fun and play in promoting well-being. The student will be based in the School of Health and Social Care (HSC) and benefit from a supervisory team from HSC and the School for Design Engineering and Technology. The student will be a member of the Bournemouth University Dementia Institute (BUDI). The support of AgeUK Dorchester for the project will allow real world application to the doctoral study. This PhD studentship offers the opportunity for a candidate interested in dementia, with a degree in health or social science or related area, to work within a newly established Dementia Institute to take forward a national health priority in Dorset
