About the Project

This PhD will focus on recent advances in understanding of body, mind and environment interactions drawing on philosophical, neurocognitive, psychological and linguistic literature among others. Focusing on the idea of embodied cognition and enactivism the study will explore particular aspects of active and outdoor learning to investigate the impact these have on children’s learning and health and well being, with a particular emphasis on development of nature connectedness and implications for learning across a range of disciplines. Candidates with a background in education and/or philosophy and linguistics are particularly welcome to apply.
