About the Project

This project focuses on the extent to which workers in middle and low income countries are utilising their education and skills. The focus is on the determinants of education and skills mismatch and the consequences in terms of earnings, spatial mobility, promotions and job satisfaction. The project also examines the consequences of mismatch for workplace performance. This thesis will build on the existing research conducted by Dr Battu and the research would involve quantitative analysis of panel data or other large data sets. Prospective students need to have knowledge of statistical modelling software such as Stata. Applicants should have a Masters in Economics or a related quantitative discipline.
