About the Project

We are seeking an academically excellent and motivated individual to join the Tavassoli lab as a PhD student. The project is sponsored by GlaxoSmithKiine and the EPSRC, and focuses on the development of cyclic peptide inhibitors of a medically relevant protein-protein interaction, using a genetically encoded drug discovery platform.

This project is multidisciplinary, with research being conducted at the interface of chemistry and biology. Training and support will be provided in variety of chemical and biochemical techniques by members of the Tavassoli research group, who are based at the School of Chemistry, and at the Cancer Research UK Centre in the Faculty of Medicine.

Funding Notes

The successful candidate is expected to have a first class degree in chemistry, biochemistry, or a related subject from a leading university.
