About the Project

John Adams Institute (JAI) for Accelerator Science offers a PhD opportunity in the area of advanced instrumentation and charged particle beam dynamics research for future accelerators such as Compact Linear Collider (CLIC). An applicant will work with the world leading experts in the field from CERN and will be able to acquire a very broad range of skills including analytical calculations, introduction to advanced simulation techniques, engineering design of both hardware for ultra-high vacuum applications, its automation and manipulation, data acquisition system, statistical data analysis, presentation of the results and scientific paper writing.
