About the Project

Applications are invited for a PhD studentship at the College of Health and Behavioural Sciences and Centre for Health Economics & Medicines Evaluation (CHEME) at Bangor University, in collaboration with Public Health Wales and Blackburn with Darwin Local Authority.

You will be expected to learn and use quantitative (including epidemiology and health economics) and qualitative research techniques as part of your Ph.D. studies. You will be working with existing survey data collected from across the UK and will also be responsible for developing and using new survey tools to collect additional data. Working with health systems in both England and Wales you will also help implement and examine novel interventions to reduce the burden of ill health resulting from adverse childhood experiences and measure the economic benefits associated with their prevention.

To apply for this studentship please submit an application via the University’s on-line admissions facility. Please ensure you include an outline of no more than two pages on your interests in this area of research, any relevant experience and reasons for wishing to undertake this Ph.D.

Eligibility Requirements
Applicants should hold a first class or upper-second-class degree. Degrees and Masters level study with science, health or statistical related components would be a distinct advantage. The award is available to UK and other EU nationals only. Other Details
The successful candidate can choose to work from Bangor University offices in Wrexham or Bangor (CHEME) but will be expected to travel in England and Wales as part of their research. The Ph.D. studies will be supervised by a team led by Professor Mark A.
