About the Project

This project is based on the application of electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR) to the determination of very long distance
measurements in biological macromolecules. Using total protein deuteration we have demonstrated that theoretical distances of greater than 80Å can be measured between spin labels. This project will push that limit to determine how to measure distances of up to 130Å and how to integrate such distance measurements into biological structure reconstruction and modeling of large protein constructs.
