Division of Medicine Centre for Obesity Research 3 Years Studentship Stipend £18,000 We are seeking a science graduate interested in gut hormone physiology who would like to undertake a 3-year fully-funded MRC PhD CASE studentship within the Centre for Obesity Research in the Division of Medicine at UCL. The fundamental aim of the research project is to investigate the role of gut hormones in the regulation of energy homeostasis. The studentship will commence October 2010. Dr Batterham’s group has extensive expertise in undertaking translational research and a variety of research projects ranging from cell-based to studies in humans are available. The exact project will be tailored to the successful student’s interests. In addition, the student will gain valuable experience by undertaking a three-month period of research with GSK, the industrial partner, working within their enteroendocrine group based in North Carolina, USA. Applicants should have, or expect to gain, either a 1st or 2.1 BSc in a relevant discipline, or a medical degree.
