Had my viva 14 July 11 and passed with major corrections, although my tutor says they are nothing to be concerned about. Lasted 1 and 1/2 hours. Was enjoyable in many ways. Many thanks to all those that have helped and advised me on this forum.

I passed my viva with minor corrections on 10th August 2011. My PhD was in clinical psychology (Alzheimer's disease). The viva was probably the hardest two hours of my PhD, but I was delighted with the result. Due to start a post-doc in bipolar disorder research at a different university next month. Thanks to everyone on the forum, you've been amazing! KB

Congrats Keenbean - hope you'll still keep coming back here now you're a Dr

User: keenbean - 11 August 2011 21:40

Of course! I think I'm still gonna feel like a PhD student for a long time anyway! Best, KB

Congratulation to all, I was wondering if someone could suggest how to prepare for the viva. It would be very helpful.

Viva is not the norm where I study but all examiners must concur for you to passed. Today I pass with minor corrections. Degree is in humanities

I have received official word from my University that I am now a Doctor! After a viva in Jan 11, corrections, review and a few more typos I have actually done it! My thesis was in criminology, and I first started properly in 2003. I did my PhD part time while working full time, and I am amazed I got to the end.

No amendments too, so am pleased as punch.
