PhD Interview and waiting :(User: mrc2907 - 02 December 2020 18:28
Hi,
I had an interview about a week ago for an individually funded PhD project. I was told in the interview I would hear within 2 weeks and I sent a thank you email the next day etc. etc. but have not received a response. Has anyone actually ever got a response to a thank you email after an interview? And did that actually lead to an offer? Also, I can't help thinking as it isn't a big PhD programme with multiple studentships, it is not something with long timelines in responding and they should know who they want immediately (they said they would be done with the interviews that same day). Could anyone share with me their own experience on this? |

Waiting two weeks is common for a PhD application and can be delayed for many many reasons. I wouldn't worry about they delay and if it is good or bad. It is perfectly fine to politely email the supervisor/admissions and ask if there is any update. Say that you are very excited about the role but that you want to know if you should be looking for alternatives.
