The nocturnal workers' thread

User: walminskipeasucker - 10 July 2009 21:52

Ladies and gentlemen, the Midnight Express will be departing from Hard Graft Station in approximately 15 minutes time. Travellers are advised to to gather their belongings - laptops, PC's, files, folder, articles, felt tips and crayons - and make their way to the platform as soon as possible. Tonight the Midnight Express will be travelling to Workinghell, calling at Busy Bee, Piled Higher and Deeeper, Callitaday and Notnearlyenough. We hope you have a pleasant and safe journey - and manage to get some work done! Choo choo!

Ah I missed this one. Absolutely exhausted last night so I went to bed instead of doing anything. :-s Hopefully, I have some energy to get something done tonight. We'll see.

User: walminskipeasucker - 10 July 2009 00:16

Well, I managed to catch the Midnight Express tonight, destination the town of Toil. Am I travelling solo, or is anyone else on board, working away?

User: walminskipeasucker - 09 July 2009 01:32

Damn, arrive late at the platform tonight so missed the Midnight Express! Ah well, I'll be boarding tomorrow and choosing an extra large carriage to fit all the work I have to do in.

Back again on the midnight train. Anyone else?

I have to finish off two chapters 'til tomorrow. Almost there. Just have to slot in some more references and expand on some aspects.
Thesis must be submitted in exactly 8 weeks. Aaargh. Tired but can see the end is in sight. Just...have....to...keep....working....through.

Hi Chris,

yes, it gets very annoying, particular with the lack of sleep these last couple of days.

I have finished typing now and will get some sleep. Best of luck!

I'm struggling to write a thesis conclusion that just doesn't sound turgid. But I'm finding it hard. :-s:-( Up for a few more hours.

Hi there,

anyone else burning the midnight oil tonight? I managed to get back on track after my thread here about lack of energy etc. Made a nice little plan and have so far worked through it and kept to the deadlines I set myself and with the supervisor. Hopefully I'll have a final draft by August and submit the thesis in early September.

The stress level is high, particularly working/writing when it's so warm and humid. Next deadline is tomorrow and I have to finish the discussion for my third chapter. So probably stay up till 1am.

I pigging did it! Just a few minutes ago I sent it off to my sups. Now it's time to sleeeeeeeppppppppp.... Hope you've had a productive journey on the Midnight Express, Lara.:-)
well done walminskipeas..!!!

Chris. that's cool! maybe you're a night owl. and no matter what - you just cant fight it :P

i read that we all have certain times of days that we're naturally better suited at for being productive. cant fight against our physiological blueprint.

Just had some good ideas to add to paper, will try and jot them down before I nod off. Why do I always feel sluggish in the day and active at night....sigh...
