How long did you wait after R&R/Major Corrections?
User: PBAPHD - 21 September 2017 11:43
Hello there, I am new to the forum and would be grateful for any insights the members would care to share. After a very unexpected decision of major corrections after my viva in 2016, I worked extremely hard to address the examiners' report and suggested corrections. I resubmitted in late July. I wake to check my email everyday hoping there is an answer. I was initially told by my supervisor that the examiners have 6 weeks to come back. My administrator then clarified and said that they can start chasing at 6 weeks. Either way, it's been over 6 weeks and the wait is making me tremendously anxious. Just wondering how long others have had to wait?

Just over 3 months for me.Things can be a little slow over the summer as often academics are at conferences or on holiday, but it should be fine for your supervisor to start gently chasing up now. I hope you have good news very soon. I know how difficult the waiting is.

I tried like hell to get it done in time for graduation, but have now missed the deadline as of last week (sigh). Hopefully the outcome is good and the wait will hopefully be worth it.

Congratulations! Must be a big relief. Well done on achieving your PhD and completing the process of corrections and waiting. Hope you have a great celebration. Btw, did you manage to get in time for the graduation or do you have to go into the next round?
