The award categories

  • Masters Student of the Year

This award will honour an individual Masters student who has demonstrated exceptional competence and curiosity in their studies. The winner should be highly motivated, an independent learner, an excellent communicator, and have a real passion for their subject. Beyond their studies, the award also recognises the nominee's extra-curricular work within the postgraduate community, and the positive influence this has on their peers.

  • PhD Student of the Year

This award will recognise an individual PhD student who is an excellent and inquisitive researcher. Beyond this, the award recognises a student who is an integral part of their research group and has made a big impact on their peers and research community more widely. Nominations may highlight someone whose hard work has led them to presenting their work at international conferences, or someone whose persistence and motivation is second to none.

  • Masters Teacher of the Year

This award will celebrate an individual who creates an exceptionally positive and encouraging learning environment, gives their students high-quality constructive feedback, is passionate about their subject, and always puts students first. Nominees should inspire students to think beyond the programme, and ultimately give students an excellent foundation for their future careers.

  • PhD Supervisor of the Year

This award is designed to recognise a PhD supervisor who goes out of their way to give their students an outstanding experience. Nominees should inspire their students to ask the big research questions, guide students with writing research papers, and introduce them to novel and current research techniques.

  • Best PG Marketing & Recruitment Campaign [NEW!]

This award is designed to recognise the institutions, Graduate Schools, departments, faculties or teams who have created a fantastic campaign which is aimed at postgraduate student recruitment. The campaign will have effectively encouraged students to start their HE journey whilst showcasing the USP of their institution.

  • Best PG Wellbeing Initiative [NEW!]

This award will recognise institutions, Graduate Schools, departments, faculties or teams who have provided outstanding support to their postgraduate students’ wellbeing. The winner of this award will have created a successful PG wellbeing initiative which puts their students’ health and happiness first.
