To find out how to nominate, and for hints and tips on what to include, take a look at our FAQs below.
Who can apply?
All the award categories are open, both UK and internationally, for:
Nominations: You may nominate a peer, your lecturer or supervisor, or one of your Masters/PhD students providing you have their support to do so. You can also nominate your department, school or faculty.
In addition to this, the Best PG Marketing & Recruitment Campaign and Best PG Wellbeing Initiative also welcome applications from:
Self-nominees: You may nominate a peer, your lecturer or supervisor, or one of your Masters/PhD students providing you have their support to do so. You can also nominate your department, school or faculty.
How do I apply?
To nominate for an award, please complete the nomination form here.
Depending on which award you're nominating for, we've split the form into three sections, allowing you to focus on your nominee's achievements and why they have the x-factor.
Do I need to provide any supplementary information?
We’d very much recommend that you do provide supplementary information, as this will strengthen your nomination, and allow it to stand head and shoulders above the rest!
What type of supplementary information should I provide?
Our judging panel would be particularly interested to see supporting materials such as testimonials from peers, students & teachers, press coverage, links to YouTube videos & photos of your academic or extra-curricular work, publications & awards, and links to blog posts or social media pages. You’ll be able to attach up to THREE pieces of supplementary information on the online form, meaning you can upload a variety of information. Remember- the more information you include, the more we know about your nomination.
What file formats are accepted?
Our nomination form allows you to upload a Word document (.doc, .docx), PDF or an image (.png, .jpg, .jpeg, .gif). If you’d like to provide a video as a part of your supplementary information, save a link to it in a Word document and then upload.
My supplementary information files are larger than I can upload. What can I do?
In order to allow your supplementary information to be uploaded, you can save the files at a low resolution, so they are small file sizes. We’ll then be in touch if we need to see the documents and images at higher resolution. If you’re unable to upload the supplementary information, you can email the Postgrad Awards team at PostgradAwards@FindAUniversity.com to find out how to submit this.
Can I submit a draft of the form now & edit it later?
No. Once you submit the form, you will not be able to edit your response so please ensure that the version you submit to us is the final one. You will, however, be able to view a draft of your submission on the last page of the submission form and edit it before sending.
Can I nominate myself?
You cannot nominate yourself for the Masters Student of the Year, PhD Student of the Year, Masters Teacher of the Year or PhD Supervisor of the Year awards. However, why not let a peer, your supervisor or one of your students know that you’d like to be nominated instead? You can share with them details of any awards and commendations you’ve received, and point them in the direction of things you’d like them to include.
You can nominate your institution, Graduate School, department, faculty or team for the Best PG Marketing & Recruitment Campaign and Best PG Wellbeing Initiative, but you must also have support from at least one current Masters or PhD student.
When is the closing date for nominations?
The closing date for submitting your entry is 5pm BST, Sunday 18 April 2021 and entries will not be accepted after this point.
