Developing quantum algorithms for solving differential equations - Theoretical Physics, PhD (Funded) Ref: 4265

Project Description. The aim of the advertised PhD programme is to investigate and develop methods for solving non-linear partial differential equations (PDE’s) on a quantum computer with applications in computational fluid dynamics. Read more

Micromorphic modeling of mechanical metamaterials: theoretical modeling and numerical simulations

One PhD position is open at TU Dortmund, Faculty of Architecture and Civil Engineering, Germany (starting from September 2021). The PhD work focuses on the enriched continuum modeling of metamaterials and the conception of meta-structures that control elastic waves and recover energy. Read more

Theoretical chemistry including reactivity and structure

A scholarship is available to undertake PhD or MPhil study in the group of Dr Terry Frankcombe at the Canberra campus of the University of New South Wales (UNSW Canberra). Read more

Droplet Impacts with Functional Surfaces

Droplet interactions with functional surfaces play a crucial role in many important physical processes, from preventing virus laden droplets passing through face masks to reducing the build-up of ice on the surfaces of flying aircraft. Read more

Computational Design of Multimodal Nanoparticle Components

  Research Group: Chemistry and Biosciences
The aim of this PhD project is to use computational methods to study conjugated polymers, conjugated polyelectrolytes (CP/CPEs) and aggregation induced emission (AIE) fluorogens for medical applications which, when in an experimental setting, should be able to simultaneously demonstrate capabilities of fluorescence imaging, photoacoustic (PA) imaging and photothermal (PT) therapy.
