The DNA Damage Response in Cancer
Dr G Melino, Dr I Amelio
Application Deadline: 30 June 2019
The MRC Toxicology Unit is a leading international research institute within the School of Biological Sciences in the University of Cambridge.
Understanding the role of the Guanosine Trimethylase TGS1 in Acute myeloid leukaemia
  Dr I Barbieri
Application Deadline: 31 March 2019
RNA methylation is a reversible post-translational modification to RNA that epigenetically numerous biological processes. The biological and molecular functions of RNA methylation are generally very poorly understood, both in normal and pathological biological processes.
Developing novel treatments for rare childhood brain tumours
  Prof R Gilbertson
Application Deadline: 12 April 2019
Despite decades of research, the treatment of brain tumours has remained largely unchanged. These cancers are treated with an aggressive combination of neurosurgery, radiation and chemotherapy that fails to cure but damages the surrounding normal brain, leaving survivors with devastating side effects.
  International PhD Programme 2019
Would you like to contribute your creativity to an. international team of scientists from all disciplines. focusing on basic research in the molecular sciences?.
Molecular mechanism of innate immunity mediated by the Toll/IL1 receptor signalling pathways.
  Prof N J Gay
Applications accepted all year round
This group participates in the Wellcome Trust 4 year PhD programme in Developmental biology., MRC and BBSRC Doctoral Training Programmes.
Small G proteins and their effectors as therapeutic targets in cancer
  Dr D Owen
Applications accepted all year round
For the majority of cancers the acquisition of invasive and metastatic characteristics leads to incurable disease in the host.
Structure, regulation and dynamics of small G proteins and their interactions with membranes and effector proteins
  Dr H Mott
Applications accepted all year round
Our lab are interested in cell signalling via small G proteins of the Ras superfamily. We use a range of biochemical, biophysical and structural approaches to understand these fascinating proteins, which are involved in multiple cellular processes and are often deregulated in diseases such as cancer.
