Inorganic Chemistry (maintenance) PhD Projects, Programmes & Scholarships

We have 26 Inorganic Chemistry (maintenance) PhD Projects, Programmes & Scholarships

Understanding decoupled electrochemistry for energy storage, conversion and electrosynthesis

Background. Decoupled electrochemistry is broadly the process of using a mediating chargeable redox species to drive an electrochemical process with a freely dispersed catalyst instead of a reaction directly at an electrode. Read more

Mechanochemical greenhouse gas capture into silicate-based rocks

This PhD project will explore how mechanochemical carbon dioxide capture process can be translated into industrial ore processing systems for three major ore deposits (copper, iron and platinum group ores). Read more

Accelerated Inorganic Materials Discovery Driven by Magnetic Resonance

This studentship will explore experimental and computational Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) spectroscopy approaches to probe the fast oxide ion transport (e.g., self-diffusion coefficients, diffusion pathways, dimensionality of motion) of oxide in inorganic materials aimed at establishing design rules for the discovery of next generation fast conductors. The Contribution of Lattice Vibrations to Switchable Spin-Crossover Crystals

  Research Group: School of Chemistry
Spin-crossover is a high-spin-to-low-spin transition at a transition metal centre, induced by temperature or pressure. It is common in iron chemistry, but also occurs in some compounds of other common metals. Read more

EPSRC Doctoral Training Partnership 2024/25: Chemistry

  Research Group: School of Chemistry
Becoming an innovator in the School of Chemistry at the University of Leeds!. For 2024/25 entry, we are offering you the opportunity to join our thriving community of leading researchers within the School of Chemistry. Read more
