Wind energy is currently representing the fastest growth area of all renewables, particularly in the UK. The height of the wind turbine towers is continuously increasing to cope with the growing energy demands and engineers need to understand the possible failure mechanisms in these slender structures.
Assistive technologies have immense unexploited potential to help aging population to remain mobile and independent for longer. This project aims at developing a novel wearable soft lower-limb robot for aging population.
Modern day society needs require energy savings and decarbonisation of the built environment. Alternative and renewable energy sources are becoming more attractive and new ways for energy harvesting are explored.
