Protozoan parasites are a diverse group of pathogens responsible for diseases ranging from Malaria (Plasmodium spp.) and Toxoplasmosis (Toxoplasma gondii) to the neglected tropical diseases Leishmaniases (Leishmania spp), Chages disease (Trypanosomas cruzi).
