Antibody Purification

We are developing a non-chromatographic, ligand-free general platform for antibody purification that is simple to implement, easy to upscale, cost-effective, and as such may provide a true alternative to the gold-standard technology. Read more

Novel antibody-nanoparticles for drug-based therapies

The project is a collaboration of Pikramenou and Hannon groups in Chemistry with the Scheel-Toellner group in the Institute of Inflammation and Ageing at the Medical School. Read more

Cancer therapy endocytosis

This is a project which aims to investigate how tumours and normal tissue internalise drugs such as cancer therapy antibodies in real in vivo models and in patients. Read more

Investigating the effects of inflamm-aging on the safety and efficacy of monoclonal antibody based therapies

Our understanding of the immune response in the elderly is still in its infancy. Now, more than ever we need to understand the basic principles of immune response as the environment alters our immune system and the particles it sees. Read more

White Rose BBSRC DTP studentship: Engineered non-antibody binding protein Affimers for cryo-electron microscopy and tomography

This project is about developing non-antibody binding proteins to determine unsolved protein structures using cryo-EM. We will focus on determining protein structures of the centrosome, the largest membrane-less protein complex in animal cells. Read more

A new bioconjugation agent for RNA analysis.

This project is available through the MIBTP programme. The successful applicant will join the MIBTP cohort and will take part in all of the training offered by the programme. For further details. Read more

Genomic Revolutions in Blood Donation Screening and Safety: The natural history of occult hepatitis B virus infections and their risk for blood transfusion.

A project in this area will investigate the occurrence and natural history of occult Hepatitis B Virus (HBV) infections, the markers associated with transmission of HBV in blood and organ recipients and the development of additional methods to identify infectious donations and exclude them from the blood supply.
