Tuberculosis kills more people than any other bacteria, and emerging drug resistance is a major threat to global health. The bacteria that causes TB, Mycobacterium tuberculosis, is an expert at immune evasion, parasitising and deactivating white blood cells to allow intracellular growth and spread across the host.
