In the UK, sheep are exposed to several helminth parasites over the grazing/production season, including the economically important gastrointestinal nematodes (Teladorsagia circumcincta, Haemonchus contortus and Nematodirus battus) and the trematode Fasciola hepatica (liver fluke) resulting in disease that affects feed conversion, animal growth rates, fertility and quality of meat, wool and milk.
