Background. Endometrial cancer and endometriosis are common gynaecological disorders, which arise from the uterine lining. Cancer develops by glandular cell differentiation, whilst implantation and growth of endometrial-like tissue in endometriosis induces a chronic inflammatory reaction causing pain and infertility.
