The dispersal of plant diseases is among the most important side effects of a closely integrated global economy. There are many examples of plant diseases that were introduced to the UK and other countries by trade, including Phytophthora ramorum, Dutch elm disease and ash dieback.

This collaborative PhD is based on a partnership between academics researching the geographies of (mental) health/disability and Remake Up (http://remakeup.org/), a social enterprise in Glasgow that uses profits to fund subsidised or free permanent make-up (paramedical tattooing) for those with disfigurement or critical illness experiences involving facial or other bodily change.
