Technical University of Braunschweig

19 PhD candidates from Science, Engineering and Economics

The Battery LabFactory Braunschweig (BLB) is a research centre of the TU Braunschweig. We investigate and develop electrochemical storage devices and especially batteries from laboratory to pilot plant scale. Our research spectrum covers the entire value chain from material development, electrode and cell manufacturing up to recycling.

For this purpose, the engineering and science expertise of 9 institutes of the TU Braunschweig as well as Technische Universität Clausthal, Leibniz Universität Hannover, Fraunhofer Institute for Surface Engineering and Thin Films IST and Physikalisch-Technische Bundesanstalt (PTB) is bundled in this joined LabFactory.

As part of a new PhD training group of the Battery Lab Factory, we are looking for 19 PhD candidates for 19 different projects. This research training group offers the PhD candidates from Science, Engineering and Economics the opportunity to perform interdisciplinary research on the circular economy and production of battery materials, while simultaneously receiving disciplinary and interdisciplinary training through qualification programs and the structured PhD programs of the associated universities. During the research training program, the PhD candidates will be prepared for a future career in industry or research institutions. The program will start on the 1st of October 2021.
