3 PhD Studentships Opportunities in Nutrigenomics

About the Project

We offer 3 fully-funded PhD positions in prof. Carsten Carlberg’s interdisciplinary research group. In general WELCOME2 project is focusing on the application of omics technologies to life sciences, particularly nutrigenomics, to investigate the effects of food and food constituents on gene expression in human and animal, and how genetic variations may affect development of diet-related diseases. Research group’s goal is to investigate the effect of vitamin D and other nutritional compounds on changes of the epigenome and transcriptome of tissues and cell types of healthy and (pre)diseased individuals.

Your profile

  • A Master’s degree in Bioinformatics, Computer Science (with some knowledge in bioscience), Biosciences (Biology/ Biochemistry/ Biotechnology) with some knowledge of Bioinformatics/ Statistics and/or Computer Sciences.
  • Knowledge/Experience in Molecular Biology particularly: RNA-seq, ATAC-seq and/or ChIP-seq.
  • Experience with analysis of high-throughput omics data.
  • High motivation to work in a multidisciplinary team.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Proactive, motivated, showing initiative.
  • Good writing and presentation skills.
  • Fluency in English in writing and speaking.

Position details

The position will be fully funded for 48 months and is available from 1.10.2022. The offered amount of scholarship is EUR 1200 net per month.
