EASTBIO DTP offers a minimum of 50 fully funded 4-year UKRI BBSRC studentships in Biosciences to start in autumn 2023, up to 30% of which will be available to international students. EASTBIO studentships include a UKRI doctoral stipend (£18,622 in 2023/24), plus a training grant of £5,000 per annum (reduced to £1,500 in year 4) and a travel/conference grant of £230 per year; leftover sums can be used in the following year. Note that although studentships cover UK-level tuition fees only, EASTBIO partner institutions are committed to support international fees. Please note that funding does not include cover for costs such as visa and associated healthcare surcharge for international students. Applications are for PhD projects advertised across the EASTBIO partnership, based in one of our partner institutions in Aberdeen, Dundee, Edinburgh, St Andrews, Stirling and Scotland’s Rural College (SRUC). Successful candidates will be first nominated by project supervisors and then shortlisted for an EASTBIO interview – interview panels involve academic representatives from each institution and the Management Group.
