HKU Presidential PhD Scholarship (HKU-PS) : The University has launched this prestigious new scholarship scheme starting from the admission year 2020-21 to attract top candidates from around the world to pursue full-time PhD studies at HKU. Each Presidential Scholar will receive a package of up to HK$ 404,000 (~US $51,500) in the first year, and up to HK$384,000 (~US$ 49,000) in each of the subsequent years during the normative study period.

The Hong Kong PhD Fellowship (HKPF) is a prestigious award established by the Hong Kong Research Grants Council (RGC) to recruit the best and brightest students of any country of origin to pursue PhD study in Hong Kong.
Awardees will be provided with a stipend of HK $309,600 (~US $39,500) and travel allowance of HK $12,900 (~US $1,600) per year to a maximum period of three years.
HKPF awardees will also be entitled to:
Postgraduate Scholarships (PGS): HK $199,920 (~US $25,500) per year offered to eligible full-time MPhil/PhD candidates.
Tuition Waiver Scheme: Composition fees of HK $42,100 (~US $5,400) per year will be waived for all local full-time MPhil/PhD candidates.
University Postgraduate Fellowships (UPF): HK $70,000 (~US $9,000) offered to selected full-time PhD candidates with excellent academic record on top of the Postgraduate Scholarships.
