About RTG R3

The RTG “R3 – Responses to biotic and abiotic changes, Resilience and Reversibility of lake ecosystems” at the University of Konstanz is a scientific training program for doctoral students funded by the DFG since April 2017. In the RTG R3 we study reversibility and resilience of lake ecosystems to environmental changes using Lake Constance as a model system aiming at a mechanistic understanding of the system response to disturbances.

In our research we combine classical and novel methods such as population genomics and metagenomics approaches, metabolic profiling, comparative multi-species experiments in chemostats and mesocosms, paleo-limnological and resurrection ecology approaches, time-series analyses, and numerical simulations.

More information about the research projects and the RTG R3 in general are available on our website.
