Since its establishment in 2004, UNNC has achieved several breakthroughs in research by bringing together the most talented staff and committing itself to transform lives and society. According to the “Best Chinese Universities Ranking” by Shanghai Ranking Consultancy, we are among the first for research quality.

UNNC is also proud to acknowledge the recent achievements of 8 scholars who were selected in the career-long database and 21 scholars in the single year database according to the 2023 version of “World’s Top 2% Scientists” released by Stanford University. The research from these members of staff covers a variety of capabilities including Information Systems, Artificial Intelligence and Imaging Processing, Energy, Nanoscience and Nanotechnology, Applied Physics, Materials, Electrical and Electronic Engineering, and Operations Research.

UNNC's strength on the list has been further boosted by newly shortlisted academics from the Nottingham University Business School, the Faculty of Humanity and Social Sciences, the Faculty of Science and Engineering, and the China Beacons Institute. This recognition acknowledges the research and academic strengths of UNNC scholars and the impact that each of them has made on both academia and society. As the first Sino-foreign university in China, UNNC has been recognised by multiple prestigious rankings worldwide for its excellence of scholars. In April 2023, 11 UNNC academics were shortlisted as highly cited scholars by Elsevier. In the future, UNNC will continue to introduce high-quality global scientific and educational resources, incorporate local development needs, and actively promote cutting-edge research and industry-university research cooperation in multiple vital fields to solve the many problems and challenges currently facing the world.
