Are you looking for an exciting, supportive and challenging research environment where you get to work on complex data challenges, in collaboration with an industry partner, as well as having the support and expertise of University of Liverpool academic supervisors?
The EPSRC Centre for Doctoral Training in Distributed Algorithms (the CDT) delivers an exciting and innovative multi-disciplinary data science, AI and machine learning PhD programme, bringing together diverse areas of expertise to train students in the skills and experiences that will ensure that they, as tomorrow’s leaders in the theory and computational application of Distributed Algorithms, will gain world-leading expertise to meet the pressing need for highly trained data scientists
Working together with our project partners, the CDT’s research will bring about positive societal impact by enabling industrial and government organisations to better provide and protect the world's population by co-defining ‘where’ and ‘how’ future algorithms will be distributed across tomorrows hardware.
Our vision is that by the end of the programme, our graduates will be on a trajectory to become future leaders in the field of Distributed Algorithms meeting the needs of government, academia and industry.
The DA CDT is funded by Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC), the University of Liverpool and our project partners, working alongside STFC Hartree and the Alan Turing Institute.
If you possess ambition and drive, have an inquisitive nature and thrive on collaboration we would love to hear from you. There will be approximately 15 funded studentships available for an October 2021 start date.
Students will engage in various training activities alongside their individual PhD project, ensuring that not only are they trained in state-of-the-art data science and computing techniques, but also that they acquire an understanding of the value and benefits of collaborative, interdisciplinary working.
We don’t expect our applicants to have experience in both data science and computing but welcome applicants with a background in a related field and the interest to develop themselves in both Future Computing and Data Science.
Eligibility, Funding, Deadlines, FAQs and Application Instructions can be found on the CDT website.
