Our CDT offers a four year training programme where students will undertake a research project, a mixture of taught courses drawn from existing Masters level courses and a main PhD project (entry to a three year studentship is possible for those who already have relevant Masters level training or equivalent). Find out more about the programme structure.

Who should apply?

We are always on the lookout for the best and brightest students from the medical imaging community. Successful applicants will:

  • Have achieved or be predicted a first or upper second degree, preferably in a physical science discipline. Applicants with degrees in chemistry and life sciences and demonstrably strong mathematical skills are welcome.
  • Have a demonstrable interest in medical imaging.

Funding

We have a high number of EPSRC studentships available which will cover the cost of fees for UK/EU students and a stipend of at least £17,280 tax free. Due to funding restrictions, we can only accept students from outside the EU if they are in possession of a fully funded scholarship or have their own funding.
