EPSRC Centre for Doctoral Training in Molecular Sciences for Medicine - 4 year PhD Studentships

Applications are invited from suitably qualified graduates for fully funded 4-year PhD studentships in the area of Molecular Sciences for Medicine (MosMed) and will focus on unmet medical needs, such as:

  • understanding of disease biology
  • identification of new therapeutic targets
  • new approaches to the discovery and development of novel therapies

Overview

The CDT in Molecular Sciences for Medicine (MoSMed) is a joint venture between Newcastle and Durham Universities. It will train the next generation of researchers at the interface of molecular and medical sciences.

Research projects will focus on the development of new molecular approaches to the treatment of disease, centred around three research themes:

  • Biology of Disease
  • Molecule and Assay Design
  • Structural Biology and Computation

Benefits of joining our programme

  • A joint PhD programme fully integrated between two leading universities
  • A supportive cohort environment
  • Direct access to experts from industry
  • A bespoke taught programme that will expand your subject-specific knowledge across the molecular and medical science disciplines and will provide industry-ready skills, in leadership, entrepreneurship and innovation.
  • Access to facilities, training and support from additional partner institutions
  • A commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion. This will be at the heart of each of our CDTs, including ensuring flexibility in all activities so that CDT participants with caring and family responsibilities are able to participate fully.
