Centre for Doctoral Training in Soft Matter and Functional Interfaces (SOFI CDT)

The admission process for 2018 has now closed. Please monitor the SOFI CDT website in the New Year for future cohort recruitment. www.dur.ac.uk/soft.matter/soficdt

The EPSRC funded Centre for Doctoral Training in Soft Matter and Functional Interfaces (SOFI CDT) provides industrially-integrated, postgraduate training in research, enterprise and innovation for future leaders in soft matter science and technology. SOFI CDT combines expertise from Durham, Leeds and Edinburgh universities, industry and central facilities. It brings together 50 academics from departments of Physics, Chemistry, Food Science, Biology, Engineering, Computing, (Applied) Mathematics and Durham University Business School.

As part of the SOFI CDT cohort you will take part in a comprehensive training programme and choose from a wide choice of innovative research projects across the full range of science related to Soft Matter and Functional Interfaces. With a cutting edge PhD project, international and industrial experience, business awareness and transferable skills training, you will be among the most employable UK postgraduates in the soft matter field for both industrial and academic career paths.
