Birkbeck is a member of the UCL, Bloomsbury and East London (UBEL) Doctoral Training Partnership, funded by the UK Government funded ESRC.

ESRC PhD studentship applications are open for doctoral research at Birkbeck, with opportunities for Masters training attached to your chosen PhD programme.

Deadline for applications: 15th January 2024

Value of funding

  • Awards for up to 4 years full time or 7 years part time depending on mode of study and your chosen pathway
  • Tuition fees covered so you can study for free
  • A tax free stipend (£20,622 in 2023/24) for living expenses

Eligibility

  • Applicants must meet the entry criteria for their chosen PhD programme
  • Home and International students are eligible to apply.
